MapHabit is committed to protecting the privacy of student education records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA is a federal law that grants eligible students and parents certain rights regarding access to and the privacy of education records maintained by educational institutions and agencies that receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
We will:
• Collect, use, and disclose student education records only as permitted by FERPA and applicable institutional policy.
• Limit access to education records to authorized personnel with a legitimate educational interest.
• Protect records with appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
• Require written consent from the parent or eligible student before releasing personally identifiable information from education records, except as allowed by FERPA (e.g., directory information, school officials with legitimate educational interests, health and safety emergencies, or other permitted disclosures).
• Respond promptly to requests from parents and eligible students to access, review, or request amendment of their education records in accordance with FERPA procedures.
